No Project, Project
Modern urban civilization is exerting power (or at least tries to) over art and artists. Contemporary urban societies are treating artworks, mostly, as goods and little as products of intellectual creation and cultural heritage.
Almost always the concept of «selling» directly or indirectly is imposed as much on the mental as on the creative process of art. In order for the artist to communicate their art they have to box themselves in a «promotion and sales package» the so called Project (really which term would be more correct in the Greek language?) I wonder if the old masters of art, when they created their famous works of art, did it because of some incomprehensible inner need for creation or because someone or something ordered/included them in some kind of Project?
The Project today seems to be the vehicle through which the urban societies seek the self-abolition of the artist’s individual entity. So when today's artist integrates his creativity into a project, then it is not only about the artistic creation but mainly about the «market». This «market» makes sure to tactfully create the illusion of artistic expression and social participation in the artist in order to appease their innate revolutionary disposition.
Having in mind everything that was mentioned above six artists with different and unique philosophical background meet In an action and interact artistically with each other in order to share with the public their thoughts and psyche, simultaneously questioning and deconstructing (as much as they can) the role of the PROJECT. Each of them is creating their own artistic proposal, according with their own process of expression and creation in a NO PROJECT project.
