The Ethnographic Center George Melikis- Mask Research Center, introduces for the very first time the new exhibition with topic “Balkan Masks”. It’s about a part of a wider collection with masks of Balkan folk practices.
The simultaneous celebration of the folk practices in the Christian Balkan world during the Holy twelve days, gives an ultimate celebrating vibe to each and every country or place. The mask as the main folk element comes in countless forms and designs, each of which expresses the personal and nationwide feeling alongside in every Balkan community.
This big and executive artistic project of the Ethnographic Center George Melikis- Mask Research Center is an addition to the bigger national exhibition of 120 masks from all over Greece and every place, where the mask represents among the other folk practices the magical-religious ritual character but at the same time the artistic creation
