For the 2nd time, the Cultural Society of Entrepreneurs of Northern Greece (PEEVE) in collaboration with Art Thessaloniki International Contemporary Art Fair establish the "MATAROA" award. 10 artists will be selected who will present their work in individual stands and on Friday, November 26 at 19:00 the 3 cash prizes will be announced. The public with the ticket or the invitation to enter will have the right to one vote.
OPEN CALL to participate in the MATAROA AWARDS for young artists, up to 33 years old.
With the aim of artistically promoting young artists and highlighting them in the artistic potential of the country, they organize through a competition, a thematic exhibition, and awarding of corresponding prizes for the artists that will be distinguished. Through the open call process with the submission of a portfolio and evaluation of the candidates by a special 5-member committee, 10 young artists are given the opportunity to exhibit their work individually in a specially designed space at the 5th Art Thessaloniki Fair.
The committee and the public will highlight, among the selected 10 portfolios, the most significant participation by awarding a cash prize of 1,500 euros, as well as two honorary distinctions of 700 euros / each. In addition, the 10 selected artists will be presented on the websites of Art Thessaloniki International Contemporary Art Fair, www.art-thessaloniki.gr | www.artforum.gr and the Cultural Society www.peebe.gr | www.culturalsociety.gr, while the thematic edition MATAROA will host a special tribute to the first prize winner in printed and electronic form www.mataroa.gr.

PARTICIPATION PROCESS:
young visual artists (up to 33 years old), graduates of the School of Fine Arts
non-graduates with at least one individual or participation in a group exhibition of branded galleries.
The 10 selected in the MATAROA 2019 awards exhibition do not have the right to participate.
WAY OF SUBMISSION, STANDARDS OF MATERIALS :
send portfolio with paintings, sculptures, engravings, mixed materials, installation, with 7 to 10 photographs of the works (.jpg), 300 to 500KB each.
Each photo should appear in a different file (no pdf) and have a full description as follows:
name of the artist
project dimension, material.
Attached to the email will be sent a short CV with a recent photo of the participant.

INFORMATION
The MATAROA project is a platform for Greek artists and modern culture in Greece.
An initiative of the Cultural Association of Entrepreneurs of Northern Greece that aims to promote modern Greek artistic creation and cultural activity. The MATAROA project has three main pylons: the printed version, the website, and the homonymous awards for young artists.
Art Thessaloniki International Contemporary Art Fair Fair has been established as the most important artistic event in the South-Eastern part of Europe, which apart from its commercial dimension, with the presentation of important galleries from Greece and abroad, much of it is dedicated to culture. with exhibitions and projects of high prestige. It is implemented by Pantelis Tsatsis, Founder and Artistic Director, in collaboration with TIF-HELEXPO at, pavillions 10-9-8.
