Greek Printmakers’ Association
The Greek Printmakers’ Association (GPA) was founded in 1987 by a group of acclaimed Greek printmakers at the initiative of Vassilis Charos. Amongst the organization’s aims are, to continue and encourage the traditional printmaking methods (woodcut, etching, silkscreen, lithography, etc), to express contemporary (including experimental) printmaking and to raise the awareness of the art-loving public as well as to introduce young artists to the art world. Thus, for the past 30 years, we have been organizing exhibitions in Greece and abroad, lectures, discussions, seminars and publications; since 2009 and every three years, we opened up to international printmaking with the Athens Print Fest. The Greek Printmakers’ Association (GPA) runs the art space ΕΚΤόS in Kypseli, Athens that exclusively presents printmaking exhibitions, it gives a chance to the art-loving public to meet the artists themselves, and to know and appreciate the authentic printmaking work.
