Award "MATAROA"
'MATAROA' Young Artists Exhibition & Award
The Cultural Society of Entrepreneurs of Northern Greece and the 4th Art Thessaloniki - International Contemporary Art Fair, commonly aiming to promote young artists, up to the age of 33, and to showcase their work to the Greek art sector, establish - for the first time this year- a thematic exhibition and corresponding award for young artists entitled ‘MATAROA’.
Through an open call procedure, in which 110 young artists participated, all portfolio submissions were evaluated by a specialized committee, and ten young artists were selected to present their work at a specially designed exhibition space as part of the 4th Art Thessaloniki Fair.

Following the final evaluation of the committee and the voting process of Art Thessaloniki visitors, the awards’ official announcement will take place on Saturday, November 23 at 18:30 in Pavilion 9, featuring the most notable participation and awarding the monetary prizes respectively. The Awards’ Ceremony will be followed by an overall presentation of the ‘MATAROA’ project, the printed edition, the new web portal and dialogue platform, as well as by a discussion with the exhibiting artists regarding the challenges and prospects of the artistic creation in Greece in 2020.
Moreover, the 10 exhibiting artists will be presented in the "New Creators" section of the website www.peebe.gr, in the web and printed edition of ‘MATAROA’ by the Cultural Society www.mataroa.gr, as well as in the Art Thessaloniki website (www. art-thessaloniki.gr), while there will be a special thematic feature for the award-winning creators.

'MATAROA' project: an award, a magazine, a web portal.
A prospect about the artistic creation in Greece in 2020.
A discussion regarding the 'MATAROA' award initiative, as well as a presentation of the publishing activity of the 'MATAROA' magazine, the new web portal, and the potential created for Greek artists through this online platform.
At the same time, the ten young exhibiting artists discuss with the Committee Members, the 'MATAROA' project contributors, the members of the Cultural Society and the audience, how they perceive and experience their professional and artistic career, both on a national and international level.
